Message MTBE is a chemical compound which contains oxygen and is usually added to gasoline (especially Cali) to boost its octane or to meet clean fuel oxygen requirements (reformulated gasoline and winter oxygenate gasoline). The problem is, it's a lame fix...and it doesn't give us the quality of gas we need for our high compression cars. Thankfully it's going away. As for Chevron, Techron is fine.

Seedy,
: What does MTBE stand for? I have always put Cheveron gas in my Z, and have leaned towards 76 (because they do sell race gas), but kept with Chevron.

: BTW, Do you know any info on the CA Chevron "Techron" (I Think it is spelled that way) gas? Good or bad?
